The annual ASCAP Vanguard Award has named the mastermind behind the “Save Your Tears,” the songwriter of the year. It comes as no surprise that the multi-talented artist received the award. In fact, the Canadian-Ethiopian star has been on the top due to his creative mindset, engrossing vocals, and top-notch production of his projects.

The R&B and pop artist’s two projects: “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless” smashed the international charts with reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

While Post Malon’s hit “Circles” was named the song of the year. The award distribution took place on April 12 on Instagram Live, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
