Texans Running Back Arian Foster To Undergo Surgery, Will Miss Start Of Season

NFL training camps are officially underway which means we’re getting closer and closer to the start of the 2015 season. It also means that we’re going to start seeing some crucial injuries. Not to be pessimistic, but that’s just the way it works.

The Houston Texans, who will star in HBO’s Hard Knocks series this season, have already experienced some hardship as their star running back and only offensive player of note, Arian Foster, suffered a groin injury today that will require surgery, keeping him on the sidelines to start the season.

There are no details regarding the extent of the injury but he will certainly be going under the knife and he’ll miss the beginning of the Texans’ season, though he’s likely to return at some point.

With Foster, an Under Armour athlete, likely sidelined for the opener and beyond, Alfred Blue will take over the bulk of the carries. Something you fantasy football owners will want to keep an eye on.

That is, of course, unless JJ Watt is ready to take some snaps.
