Pusha T has been teasing his sophomore album King Push since last December, when he said it would be out in Spring 2015. Alas, we haven’t seen that album yet, but Pusha T announced today that he has a prelude to the album on the way, titled Darkest Before Dawn, which is scheduled to drop on December 18.
In an interview with Noisey, he said, “I’ve been recording so much—I didn’t want to break up that body of work. I feel like I had the producers doing things that they weren’t usually known for, a little out of their wheelhouse. I wanted to give the fans that body of work. That’s the music I love, and that’s the music that my fans love from me. Instead of having those moments throughout King Push, let’s just separate the game.”
The president of G.O.O.D. Music also revealed a few impressive producers who put in work on Darkest Before Dawn, including Kanye West, Puff Daddy, Timbaland, Q-Tip, and Baauer. He also said that King Push will finally be released in Spring 2016.
Previously, Pusha T shared two tracks that will likely be included on the upcoming album, so check out “Lunch Money” and “Untouchable” below, the latter of which was just released a few days ago.
