Thom Browne elevated the singer’s signature skeleton look for the red carpet

Tonight marks the 63rd annual Grammy Awards, and right now, the red carpet has been infiltrated by a steady throng of celebrities ready to peacock in front of the assembled paps. Among them is Phoebe Bridgers, who’s up for four awards – including best rock performance, best rock song for “Kyoto”, and inexplicably, best ‘new’ artist (do you want to tell them or shall I?)

Staying true to her signature aesthetic, and mirroring the looks she wore on the press trail for Punisher, the musician slipped into an elevated skeleton dress by Thom Browne for the event. Taken from the NY designer’s SS18 collection, the all-black look was finished with beaded and crystal bones – from femurs and fibulas, to clavicals and carpals. Think Funnybones, but make it fashion, and you’ve pretty much hit the nail on the head(bone). And yes, I am sorry for what I just wrote.

The look follows closely behind another haute-take on our inner-workings, after Bridgers took to the Saturday Night Live stage in custom Gucci bones just a few weeks ago. In that instance, her darkly romantic gown was crafted from semi-see-through silk chiffon, and featured a delicately beaded pearl decolletage and crystal-strung rib cage.
