Natti Natasha Brings ‘Squid Game’ to Live Performance

Natti Natasha has jumped on board the Squid Game train. This past weekend, the “Quién Sabe” singer performed at the 2021 iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina in Orlando dressed as the giant robot doll from the first episode of the hit Netflix series.

Surrounded on stage by dancers dressed as the masked characters from the South Korean survival drama, Natasha wore a bright orange dress with a yellow top underneath and white knee-high socks. Unless you’ve been living under a rock at the bottom of the ocean (like a squid), you know that the Squid Game is Netflix’s biggest debut hit in its history, with 111 million viewers in four weeks.

Squid Game follows a group of people competing for a massive amount of money by playing a series of children’s games like marbles and tug-o-war. These games, however, come with deadly consequences if you lose. This is evident when the giant robot doll makes an appearance during the show’s very first game. Contestants are forced to play a game of Red Light, Green Light, where they are “eliminated” if the doll catches them moving.

The nine-episode Squid Game continues to make fans across the globe, including Natasha, hope to become as big of a global phenomenon as the Netflix series one day. Earlier this year, she released her second album, NattiVidad, featuring several Latine artists like Prince Royce, Becky G, and Justin Quiles. Ahead of the release, Natasha told Remezcla that the new album had inspired her to keep being who she is.

“I feel stronger than ever now about my vision, who I am about, who Natti Natasha is, what she wants to express, and how she wants to express it,” she said.

Natasha definitely has early dibs on the anticipated Halloween trend as there has been a rise in search for Squid Game-inspired costumes this year.
