Earlier this year, it almost seemed certain that we would never have the opportunity to see LCD Soundsystem perform live in all their glory again. Kris Peterson, the label manager of James Murphy’s DFA imprint, vehemently denied the reunion when Consequence of Sound reported the news back in October, citing “multiple sources” confirming their return.
But according to The New York Times, the collective really is set to reunite in time for one of the biggest musical events of the year: Coachella.
LCD Soundsystem is definitely poised for a triumphant return, especially having recently released a new song, though a spokesperson for them declined to comment on this. Peterson has also since then tweeted that “[he is] not and never have been” a representative for LCD Soundsystem:
All we have to do now is sit back, cross our fingers, and wait for that Coachella announcement. If all is true, then LCD Soundsystem will be headlining with another high-profile reunion, Guns ‘N Roses.
