Rising star Khalid brought his Roxy Tour to Los Angeles’ Greek Theater on Wednesday night for the first of two shows, performing with collaborators Normani and Shawn Mendes on the intimate stage. After his set, the “Location” singer shared a photo of himself with the pair — sparking ideas for a power trio that fans didn't know they needed.
Khalid and Mendes made the live debut of their song “Youth,” which came out last week. The mononymous singer also brought out Normani to perform their single “Love Lies,” from the Love, Simon soundtrack — a hit that has spent 11 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 (so far).
For the photo of all three singers, Khalid used the short-but-sweet caption “next gen.” The trio, ranging in age from 19-21, are all representing well for Generation Z. Khalid shared the picture to both Instagram and Twitter, garnering nearly 700,000 collective likes and 17,000 retweets in just a few hours.
The viral photo has been called legendary and led to many requests for Normani, Shawn, and Khalid to collaborate.
