Kentucky's Coach John Calipari Says There's No Beef Between Drake And UK

Last October, during the University of Kentucky’s annual Big Blue Madness event, the Wildcats’ #1 fan, Drake, was in the building although he was strictly told not to meet with recruits because it would be a violation of NCAA protocol.

Kentucky even had staffers standing guard in the hallway to prevent the OVO rapper from crossing paths with any recruits. As it turns out, they didn’t do a good enough job because Drake was photographed with Class of 2015 recruit, Charles Matthews.

UK was then forced to self report the Level III violation, and yesterday reports surfaced that they even sent a cease and desist later to Drake and his management team.

However, Kentucky’s Coach John Calipari insists that all is well between he, Drake, and Big Blue Nation.

Just so everyone knows, my dear friend @Drake took pics with fans as well as a couple guys as as he was leaving the arena after Madness.

There are no issues with @Drake and UK, and Drake is and always will be a part of our Big Blue family. I hope to see him on campus soon.

What a relief! Now Drake can go back to focusing on Meek Mill.

Also, notice how Calipari specified “on campus.” That wasn’t a mistake. Coach Cal is a smart man and although he doesn’t mind if Drake is galavanting around the UK campus, he surely doesn’t want him “in the gym” tarnishing their storied program.
