To Pimp A Butterfly inspired a New Jersey high school teacher to incorporate Kendrick Lamar lyrics into his curriculum earlier this year—now, that program has inspired its own scholarship. The “Be Alright” scholarship, sponsored by Philadelphia hip-hop and culture site Oogeewoogee.com, rewards the winning college-bound High Tech High student (home of the aforementioned Kendrick curriculum) with a $1500 scholarship.

“We’ve always wanted to create a hip-hop inspired scholarship—a tangible contribution to the culture,” Wilkine Brutus, the site’s content director, tells P&P. Eligible students have submitted 2-3 minute videos “explaining the positive aspects of hip-hop and showcasing their own individual talents,” which you can vote on via the site’s Facebook page. Though not yet officially endorsed by Kendrick, the organizers have contacted his reps about the project and hope to hear back soon.
