Jennifer Lopez Heads to Washington D.C. in True Diva Style

Tomorrow’s inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden is set to be a star-studded affair. After stumping for him during the election, a few of Hollywood’s A-list will be descending on Washington D.C. to watch as Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are sworn in. Among the names set to perform during the ceremony is Jennifer Lopez, who is expected to contribute a live performance in the Capitol. En route to the event, Lopez gave her fans a taste of what’s to come, updating her Instagram with a peek at her private jet and luxurious onboard attire.

Dressed in pieces from Alberta Ferretti’s fall/winter 2020 collection, Lopez was all business. Her slate-grey overcoat, mohair sweater, and slouchy wool trousers from Ferretti were precisely the kind of thing a jet-setting pop star/beauty mogul would wear. Still, unlike some of her more outré outfits, the look was also appropriate for the D.C. political scene. The glitzy gowns with plunging necklines that Lopez gravitates towards during awards season are perfect for the red carpet, but in a city where the fashion skews professional, the buttoned-up Ferretti was an ideal choice.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Lopez look without a little glamour, and she added visual interest with a trio of statement accessories. In Ferretti’s gold studded belt, a chocolate mini bag, and a python print fedora, the star added visual interest without going over the top. While it is likely that Lopez and her stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn are saving a more dramatic look for when she takes the stage tomorrow, her chic travel fashions are exactly what diva ought to wear to the political event of the year.
