The collection previously teased in the enigmatic artist’s Homer catalogue has officially arrived

When Frank Ocean launched the debut jewellery collection from his new luxury brand, Homer, last month, he also teased an upcoming Prada collaboration. Although he kept details characteristically ambiguous, images of the crossover collection appeared in a catalogue, available on request or at Homer’s NYC store.

Now, though, it’s official. More details of the multi-hyphenate artist’s collab with the Italian label come courtesy of Huxley. “Homer has re-imagined three pieces from Prada, each in four unique colours,” the talent company writes on Instagram. “Made in Italy by Prada, the collection features the Anorak, Backpack, and Belt Bag, with an internal co-branded tag.”

Sharing Tyrone Lebon-shot images of the bags and anorak on his own social media, Ocean hints that it could be the first in a series of joint collections, writing: “PRADA 1 OF ??”

He’s also answered the question on everyone’s mind: How do we get hold of a Prada x Homer piece for ourselves? If you hadn’t already guessed, it’s not entirely straightforward. Avid customers can either swing by the IRL store at 70-74 Bowery, New York, or send a message through to (212) 410-3300 (but only via the encrypted messaging app Signal).

To literally everyone’s delight, Frank Ocean first became the face of Prada back in January 2020, almost a year after he displayed his allegiance to the label at the 2019 Met Gala.

On the topic of Homer, meanwhile, Ocean has discussed his desire to “make things that last”, as suggested by the name that represents “carving history into stone”.

“Hand on my heart, this project has kept my mind moving and my imagination turning throughout it all,” Ocean wrote on Instagram following last month’s launch. “All of my work now is dedicated to my family. Everything. My hope is to make things that last, that are hard to destroy, set it in stone.”
