Beyond Wonderland Cancelled After CA Gatherings Ban

The State of California has laid down the law. For the whole month of March, gatherings over 250 people have been banned. This includes all EDM festivals, concerts, and shows. Beyond Wonderland, which was set to take place in a week or so in California, will most likely be postponed or canceled. Governor of California Gavin Newsom official statement is as follows:

“The state’s public health experts said that gatherings should be postponed or canceled across the state until at least the end of March. They further recommended that non-essential gatherings should be limited to no more than 250 people, while stating that smaller events could continue if the organizers were able to implement social distancing of 6 feet per person.”

Reports have started trickling in that, as expected, Beyond Wonderland will be canceled. We expect a more complete statement shortly, but Pasquale previewed this last night.

Pasquale Rotella took to Instagram to provide an update on the whole situation. With Beyond Wonderland stuck in the middle of this and EDC Las Vegas coming up in May, we can only brace for the worst. While the official cancelation notice hasn’t been issued, Insomniac insiders have exclusively informed EDMTunes that Beyond will be cancelled.

Yesterday was a whirlwind for the U.S. and the Coronavirus. President Trump banned travel to the U.S. from Europe for 30 days. Effectively putting an end to any show a European DJ has in the U.S. The NBA suspended their season for the immediate future. And celebrities are reporting positive to the virus with Tom Hanks confirming he has it in an Instagram post.

The California Department of Public Health issued a report that details necessary precautions:

• Large gatherings that include 250 people or more should be postponed or canceled.
• Smaller gatherings held in venues that do not allow social distancing of six feet per person should be postponed or canceled.
• Gatherings of individuals who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 should be limited to no more than 10 people.
• A “gathering” is any event or convening that brings together people in a single room or single space at the same time, such as an auditorium, stadium, arena, large conference room, meeting hall, cafeteria, or any other indoor or outdoor space.

Stay safe at their friends. Lets hope this all will be over soon.
