Los Angeles-based Betty Moon returns in all her wicked glory with new video for ‘Natural Disaster’
Betty Moon’s 2017 album Chrome has been released to critical acclaim, and we are not surprised. Still craftily blending rock n’ roll, pop, dance music , and punk, Moon’s creative ability to cross genres and decades is not lost on this album.
‘Natural disaster’ takes us back to Moon’s rock n’ roll roots but adds an electro-pop flair that cannot be missed. It is one of those tracks that nostalgically brings you back to the early days of No Doubt but then keeps you present with sounds similar to Los Angeles glam-pop greats of today such as Ariel Pink.
The accompanying video gives off a sense of LA glamour gone awry keeping Moon at center stage looking both grungy and elegant throughout. Live performance clips in the video are reminiscent of punk shows of the 70s and 90s (think Patti Smith and Bikini Kill), making it hard for you to divert your eyes. Check out the video for your self and get ready for a roller-coaster ride crossing both genres and decades.
