Are Maluma & Maroon 5 Collaborating?

We’ve heard so many spontaneous collaborations this year. From Prince Royce’ teaming up with Nicky Jam and Jay Wheeler on their first bachata song to Tokischa’s unexpected live performance with Madonna, who’s next? Based on social media posts, it could be a track with the Colombian superstar Maluma and the American pop rock band Maroon 5. Here’s what we know so far.

“World ain’t ready…@maluma,” the Maroon 5 singer posted on his personal Instagram account. In response, Maluma said: “Let’s get it ?.” Papi Juancho also posted the same photo captioning it: “Save this photo…” This time, he added the studio’s location in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Needless to say, fans are thrilled about the potential upcoming collaboration. A Twitter user commented: “This is an important announcement for all those people who denigrate Maluma, who say he has no talent, who belittle him, remember very well these words, MALUMA FT. MAROON 5.”

Another Twitter user commented: “A COLLABORATION BETWEEN MAROON 5 AND MALUMA IS ON THE WAY! WHAT’S GOING ON HERE!”

This isn’t the first time that Maroon 5 has explored the Latine genre. Last year, the “She Will Be Loved” band collaborated with Anuel AA on “Button,” produced by Tainy. On the other hand, we know that Maluma is not only open to new sounds but thrives in them. Earlier this year, he earned his first No. 1 on Regional Mexican airplay, a new genre territory for the Colombian’s usual reggaeton, Latine trap, and pop-based music. Could it be that his next conquest is rock?

Apart from this news, Maluma recently released his new surprise sixth album, The Love & Sex Tape. As for Maroon 5, the band is celebrating 20 years of their debut album, Songs About Jane.

Could this new collaboration mark the start of a new era for both artists?
