Ferg provides extensive details on his upcoming album in a new interview with HOT 97. He says “Always Strive and Prosper” is dropping “very, very soon.”
Ferg had been off the map for most of this year, but he’s recently come back into the spotlight in a big way. At the beginning of the month, he dropped the Hit-Boy-produced “Tatted Angel,” in which he touched on the death of A$AP Yams, and last week, he released a monstrous collab with Future, “New Level.” In a new interview with Nessa of HOT 97, Ferg explained that the collaboration came as a result of him directing Future’s “I Thought It Was a Drought” music video, which should be released in the near future.
“New Level” will appear on Ferg’s next album, Always Strive and Prosper, and he also used the new interview to reveal some more of the features that will appear on the upcoming project. The album will include a collab with Missy Elliott that’s produced by DJ Mustard and “Dope Walk” producer Stelios Phil. Additional features include Rick Ross, Ty Dolla $ign, Chris Brown, and ScHoolboy Q, who will guest on a track titled “Let It Bang.”
He went on to share more details about the album, revealing that there will be a track dedicated to his late grandmother. Another track, “Psycho,” will focus on Ferg’s uncle, who was the subject of the Clams Casino-produced “Uncle,” which appeared on Ferg Forever.
Speaking of Clams, Ferg told HOT 97 that fans can expect to hear more of him on Always Strive and Prosper and that he’s particularly excited about a collaboration between the New Jersey producer and DJ Khalil.
Looking at both the features and the production, Always Strive and Prosper looks to be one of the most anticipated projects of 2016. And though Ferg wouldn’t give an exact release date, he confirmed in the new interview that the album is dropping “very, very soon.”
