The label’s Japanese website suffered an IT problem which cut the cost of its clothing

Christmas may still be a good few weeks off, but it’s highly likely plenty of Prada shoppers in Japan thought the day had rolled around early this week – given the Italian label suffered a technical problem which knocked 99 per cent off almost every item on its Japanese website.

As part of an error lasting a number of hours, signature styles including Prada’s nylon accessories and stand-out sneakers were slashed to prices ranging between ¥583 and ¥2,255 JPY. Going by today’s exchange rate, that works out to around $5 – $21 or £3.50 – £16.

With prices mistakenly reduced on November 10, Prada confirmed it had resolved the issue soon after.
