Today, Wednesday, October 21, 2015 isn’t just your typical Hump Day. This is the exact date that Marty McFly traveled to in the classic film, ‘Back To The Future,’ and Nike has major plans for the iconic Air Mag sneakers Michael J. Fox wore in that movie.
In 2011 when the Mags first released, they were sold strictly via eBay auction and all of the millions of dollars of proceeds went to the Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson’s Disease.
Now, it is being reported that the first pair of self-lacing Nike Air Mag sneakers are in New York City right now and while there’s currently no word on a possible release, it a huge development for sneaker fiends all over the globe.
If Nike does decide to drop the atomic Air Mag bomb, it’ll probably be thru an auction similar to the way they released in 2011. AKA- unless you’re filthy rich, you’re out of luck.
Select pairs of the 2011 Mags are currently selling at Flight Club for $9,000. And those jawns don’t even lace themselves.
To put it in [sneaker] perspective, there are 10 highly coveted Air Jordans that you can buy with that money instead of the Air Mags. In fact, the following list consists of 12 Air Jordans because there are a couple of two-sneaker packs.
Even if you bought every ‘grail status’ pair listed below [shown above] from Flight Club, you’d still have $225 left over which is enough to buy this weekend’s ‘3-Peat’ Air Jordan 8 release and ball out at Chipotle.
