After opening the 2018 ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 15) by paying tribute to the victims of the fatal shootings at the Route 91 Festival in Las Vegas last October, Jason Aldean returned to the stage for a stripped-down performance of his latest single “You Make It Easy.”
Aldean did a vocals-first, theatrics-last take on the smoldering song, the lead single from his just-released eighth album, Rearview Town.
When Billboard spoke to him on Friday, Aldean had Route 91 on his mind but wasn't going to let the tragedy impact his love for Las Vegas. “I love this city. I always have,” he said. “I’ve had one night where it was horrible, but I’ve had a million great nights here and a lot of great memories. It’s always going to be a little strange coming here.”
“You Make It Easy” peaked at No. 2 on the Hot Country Songs chart back in February.
